Two existing 1970’s era classrooms were combined to form the Dean of the School of Medicine Audio/Visual Conference Room. To signal a break from the utilitarian hard surfaces of the previous classrooms, the corners of the room, counters and acoustic drop ceiling form a curved radius. Acoustically absorbent felt forms the wall covering about the chrome chair rail. The floating acoustic ceiling accommodates recessed LED lights, speakers, a projector and camera, and air diffusers. Colors for the finishes were a pale blue and sandstone, able to form a neutral backdrop to the presentation. Entry and counter alcoves were painted lime green. Casework was a light maple to complement the bright, modern finishes. atelierjones also worked with the the School of Medicine Dean’s office to pick the flexible chair and table furniture.
