To give Space.City a presence in the city without a permanent location, a mobile pavilion is created that can function as a space, an object, and an event. Its dimensions are constrained so as to be easily transferred between different locations in the city, perhaps to even be in several locations at once by way of multiplicity. In this way, it creates an event network throughout the city, highlighting an observer’s awareness of different events and spaces at different times. The pavilion undergoes periodic changes through manipulation of light and its exterior skin. From a distance, the pavilion’s brightly lit interior appears flat, as a sign or signal. Upon closer inspection, an observer’s experience of the pavilion becomes special as its three-dimensionality becomes apparent and accessible.
